Beneath a magnolia

He is one man, but he reaches
much farther than most.
This is his virtue, or so he thinks.
Within his sight are many holds,
and he will clasp the highest one.
Your head is his step stool, and
he’ll feed you only if you squeal.
His one hunger is for power,
and if you watch closely,
you’ll see him sneaking seconds.
Stay away or stay useful,
but always on your guard.
He isn’t afraid to swallow you whole.

Perhaps you don’t trust me,
but he has told me his true heart.
Consider yourself warned.
